Merry Xmas, 2006!

This past Sunday(xmas eve day) at journeychurch, Pastor Rich Bontrager had a clip to show involving the Apollo 8 space mission...with some awesome video footage of earth from space...some of which were the first to be shot from the moon...which the astronauts became the first to circle from earth....they read from the book of Genesis on christmas eve, 1968. I had completely forgotten about this reading when it was shown...and quite frankly...got pretty choked up, because...well...number one...I have always been fascinated with our achievements in space...but more importantly...it really did jive well with the message of the season....christ was born, and nature itself as a result...was really reborn at that moment...but so many of us take advantage of that as well as the story of christ's birth....as Pastor Rich put it....we really do need to embrace getting back to the garden of Eden!...the way the lord created it "in the beginning."
...and god needed a christmas, I think...he needed a new name that would not be blamed falsely for things that happen like hurricanes and floods and other disasters of nature since the apple and snake happened. I hope that everyone considered this on one of the holiest of days, and will consider taking Jesus Christ as their lord and savior!
