Understanding Salvation
Salvation- NOUN:
1.a. Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.
b. A source, means, or cause of such preservation or deliverance.
Christianity definitions:
1.Deliverance from the power or penalty of sin; redemption.
2.The agent or means that brings about such deliverance.
What does Salvation mean to you?
I find out more with every passing day what Jesus dying on the cross means to me. An interesting discussion in our LIFE group this week, as we spoke about how we view this world of ours through different references of "our time"....It continues to permeate in me the wonderment of our "mortality." To put it simply....what does this crazy life of ours actually MEAN to us?....Is it wasting our time with Orgys(use your imagination on that term carefully, though!) and sinful rhetoric, or is it finding the true meaning of our existence on earth?
God does challenge us in our lives....as an admired member of our group reminded me today..."fills the holes in our lives"....perhaps as a ways of challenging us to do good on this earth, rather than evil...what do you think?

So many people see and believe "salvation" as something you get, receive, or do so that you are "safe" and get to go to Heaven some day. Then you get to start and really live and can finally get to know God.
Yet, Jesus taught about belief and being free from sin and the trapping of this world TODAY. Salvation should allow us to experience freedom, and we then can begin to live more alive, complete, lives here and now. Why wait to live and know God someday in Heaven, when you can start today?
As we do accept God's grace, love, and salvation the "holes" in our life will be filled and as more complete Jesus followers we'll live a fuller, more purposeful life. Part of the mystery of following Jesus is that he restores our life, sets us free, and promises to be a part of our live today.
