Gym Rat Time!

I love late November and the kickoff of the college basketball season! While I don't pay particularly close attention to it like I do come March Madness time...I do enjoy getting back in the spirit of being a "gym rat." One of the things I miss, and have been contemplating as a single dude...is finding a job of "announcing" a high school region radio broadcast somewhere...and I have scouted a few opportunities...but have fallen just short of applying for one. One reason I am so hesitant is the fact that I know the hard work that SHOULD be put into such an endeavor in order to make it a success for those grandparents/busy parents who might be listening as their child gets their name announced after making a big play....I was a color analyst for KFIL in Preston, MN for nearly 7 years...and did not envy the task my counterpart had of keeping track of those guys from second to second! I saw how it really consumed them, and I even have a pastor who came from that background, and has shared his experiences...good and bad...on a number of occasions.

In any case, I hope I can figure out a way, and am able to....get involved somehow in helping out an extra-curricular high school sports endeavor this winter as I continue to seek employment! Wether it be going for the slave-like hours of a sports broadcasting career somewhere, or just simply volunteering my services at a local gym!

Checked out the defending champions
and watched a bit of Indiana/Butler and Gonzaga/Rice Wednesday night...and am looking forward to catching a few other games soon...wether it be in the local gyms, or on the television!
