Another one to consider...concept of a christian vs "what would Jesus do?"
Today I was just contemplating an issue of false peacemaking that is going on in my life.(and I am working on "recovering" from it) I'll explain a bit to give you an idea.
Jesus' Beatitudes are the basis of an important principle he put forth for us to follow the spirit's will for our lives...in Matthew 5:9...It is said God blesses those who work for peace...and in my opinion, this does NOT mean we pacify and appease as christians to ensure no one gets upset...but rather we do like Jesus did...He disrupted all the false peace around him(see Matthew 10:34-36)...All the while, Jesus kept present by clearly meeting everyone he encountered through being the best speaker and listener who has ever walked this earth! In my opinion...we must do the same as his followers...We must RISK...We must stop ignoring the difficult issues and settling for this "false peace", hoping things will just go away...
While I don't yet have the strength to CORRECTLY overcome this through my depression, time IS making things a little better, at least..and I am looking forward to the day I can reach my 8th step in my "recovery."
