Proverbs 6....gee...this all looks pretty familiar!

In many ways, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed on to be a case worker at Damascus Way.
Proverbs 6 gives Solomon's perspectives on those who are just plain lazy, and proud for no good reason, and gossipy and alllllll sorts of things that just are not productive to becoming one that unconditionally loves and contributes to god's kingdom. As I have discovered, my gift of empathy can turn against me time and time again to those that want to continue their selfish ways, and take away my ability to present ways to peace and prosperity among my brothers/sisters in christ. The six things the lord hates(no, seven things he DETESTS!) in verses 16-19 are when our "eyes are bigger than our stomach" so to speak, lying, hands that do bad things(kill the innocent), evil hearts that plot, racing to do wrong, sowing discord among others by presenting falsehoods and lies, and finally...false witnessing(and oh, boy...that one can be SOOOO difficult sometimes to avoid, IMO)
So the advise is to seek "wise counsel"....which I certainly hope I have been able to have been for the men that are in this program. Only problem is...who is really wanting to seek it...and who is just "playing" me and the others on the staff at Damascus Way?
Verses 30-31 explain the "excuses" and consequences for those that break laws in lands everywhere on this earth...and there have certainly been some insane-looking sentences on some of these clients of mine. But one thing stands true in my mind for each and every one of them. If they accept the fact...and I mean TRULY hold Christ in their hearts...nothing can stop them from doing good deeds for his kingdom. I have witnessed it....I believe in it...and I must do everything in my power to continue believing it is possible for each and every one of these guys I take under my wing...no matter how bad things look.
Up next....more thoughts on the Succubus....er....Immoral woman in Chapter 7!
